Life gets in the way, I forget that my prime directive is words on page.
Then something nice happens, like a good review. Ray from Tartarus Press pointed this one out to me, it’s in Supernatural Tales #17. A most kindly review of Sister, Sister:
I was also surprised to encounter `Sister, Sister’, Angela Slatter’s story of a rogue queen-prostitute in a grubby city-state in a parallel universe. It reminded me of the gritty fantasies of Tanith Lee, with a dash of vintage Fritz Leiber. This is the sort of thing that gives fantasy a good name. The word ‘compendium’ was developed by the Universe in the hope that people like Ann and Jeff VanderMeer would come along.
LL Hannett and I have scored a berth on the good ship Steampunk Reloaded, with a couple of literary artefacts :-), the main one being “The Curious Case of Physically-Manifested ‘Bed-Sheet Mania’”. A very good book for a very good cause: promoting literacy.
Team VanderMeer have put together this anthology for ProLiteracy. So, you get to help out (thus increasing your karma-credits) and you get a fantastic read – look at those writers, look at those names! Nothing wrong with any of this.
